be the change you wish to see in the world

Today is my brother’s birthday. We have a friend with the same birthday.

I texted them both happy birthday.

I picked up a half cow from a butcher and hour away. The guy took $16 dollars of the total so I could give him exact change. It was an all cash deal. It’s a lot of meat; it’s exciting to have it in the freezer.

Workout out today. Writing now. This morning I had breakfast and I thought about things for a long time. I started worrying about money and work. It’s a common rumination I have.

I came up with new rules to challenge those thoughts with. I wrote them down and said them out loud. It felt healing.

Today I am going to a dance class. Excited for it. Mainly to practice my triple step and my two step. The last class unlocked a lot for me on the footwork front. Everything came easier after I started to understand the footwork. I had a lot of fun last class.

I have two desktops here from the office I’ve cleared out. I think I’ll boot Linux on them and mine some monero with them. I’m not sure if it’s possible but it’d be nice to link all the desktops together for a home network or something like that. I guess, and I think I will, run pi-hole on one of them. I could probably do that on this machine. And block all ads coming into the smart tvs.

Smart TVs kind of suck because they are optimized to the advertiser and not the customer. It’s a weird thing we are living in. It’s quite predatory. It’d be nice if it was illegal to spy so nefariously on people. I’d like people following me or be peering into my house with binoculars over how the peer into your digital life today. It’s much more nefarious and violating and the details are much more intimate than some dude following you down the street.

Oh well, I guess I can just continue my privacy journey and building my privacy muscle. I hope to live in a world were privacy gets respected but we are a long way off from that. I guess I have to build it myself if I want that. Be patient, stay optimistic.

Stay me.
