I’m typing on my phone holding horizontally. It feels a bit weird, I don’t usually write this way. Usually I write vertically or “portrait” mode or whatever you call it.
I kind of like this way though too; it’s growing on me.
I am on the CFA (charactered financial analyst) promotional mailing list. I was skimming through my emails and I missed the chance to join a zoom interview with the reigning excel world champions. Dang.
Excel is pretty important. I overheard a story a few years back; someone at a large oil and gas company changed a formula in a single save file that thousands of people excel models referenced to across the company. It shut down trading company wide for the whole day. Probably a couple millions dollars lost, maybe more.
Crazy stuff.
On a resume I’d say I’m an advanced user but in reality I’d say I am intermediate. I know macros, most basic functions, pivot tables (kind of), regressions, stuff like that. I hard to use it a lot in university. Since then not so much.
I’m sitting in the living room and the cat jumped up on my lap; he’s snoozing. I don’t usually like the cat sleeping on me because he sheds and I’m slightly allergic. Using two hand to type this though.
Well, I was. Just stood up. Was drinking a coffee and it worked its magic. Now I’m taking a 💩.
Don’t judge me for having my phone in the bathroom. You do it too; you sicko.
In Halifax we went for a dinner at a nice restaurant. One of the guys in our party would tell anyone walking by that made eye contact that we were here for a bachelor party. If the person walking by looked like they were married he would grab them and ask them to give advice for a happy marriage to the groom.
One guy said make sure your wife stays fit. I thought he was getting something sweet, like make sure you take care of her but then he said if she doesn’t there is always pornhub, so he wasn’t lol.
He also said the best part of his day is the 40 minutes of solitude he gets in the bathroom to scroll TikTok. Also not very sweet.
All around not the best advice from that guy but it was advice.
I’m supposed to go for a bike now but don’t want too. That probably means I should.
